Causes, Cures and Contagion
Mingle with the best and brightest in Singapore... and join us for this dynamic presentation by a world-renowned economist and global business guru.
Dr. Langdana will explore the recent global phenomena of "bubble economies" in which investors gravitate to just one or two champion sectors that often consume an entire generations’ savings.
Specifically, his presentation will include:
- An analysis of the US macro-history from the dotcom bubble to the three bubbles currently deflating and threatening to cause contagion to the rest of the world.
- Hot capital outflow and bubble collapses
- A simple game-theoretic interpretation of When Bubbles Explode.
- Currency raids, speculative strikes, and "shorting" a currency
