Health & Stress Management Discussion
Wednesday, 8 October 2008
6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Ni Tien Martial Arts School

Registration followed by 1 hour lecture, Q & A, refreshments and networking
Discussion topic will include 3 main pillars:
1. Asian Traditional Medicines: Ancient knowledge for modern days
Over 5000 years old, knowledge gathered from traditional medicines comes handy to cope in today’s busy and stressful environment. More than just an alternative to modern “Western” medicine, traditional Asian medicines pay more attention to the overall condition of the body rather than focusing on isolated traumas.
2. Stress management or the art of dealing with our emotions
Stress management is determined by two main arts, the Art of Breathing and The Art of Dealing with our Emotions.
3. Dietetics: Balance between acid and alkaline
A balanced diet is also the key element to controlling our minds and emotions.
Our acid/alkaline balance (aka: the Ph of our blood) fluctuates with our daily stresses and poor food habits in our fast-paced environment. Acidification of the blood causes potential health problems that most people would ignore. For example, we find it hard to shed off those extra pounds simply because our body is too acidic.
The above topics and more will be explored during the upcoming ConneXions event on Health & Stress Management.
