4th of July Celebration in Singapore

Pack your picnic blanket and break out your red, white and blue...everyone's invited to our annual 4th of July celebration proudly hosted by the American Association of Singapore.

Entertainment Line-up

1)
Comedians J Chris Newberg & Angie Greenup on stage- 5 pm

2)  The CITY SWING BAND - 5.40 pm- a standard big jazz band made up of 5 Sax's, 4 Trumpets, 4 Trombones, Piano, Bass, Drum set, and a rhythm guitar.  The band is in the form of the classic Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Lincoln Center, Buddy Rich, big jazz bands of the past and present. On July 4th, expect to hear famous patriotic songs like "America the Beautiful”, "My country 'Tis of Thee", "Battle Hymn of the Republic", all in big band jazz arrangements.   

 3) Mid-life Crisis -6.30 pm -This year's Event Chair David Boden together with his band will rock the audience into the fireworks and formal festivities with classic American Rock 'n Roll. As a popular band in Singapore’s expat music scene for over 4 years, they have graced venues such at the American Club, Blooies-West Coast, Muddy Murphy’s and the The Crazy Elephant.

 4) Formal ceremonies begin - 7.45 pm- will start of with the color guards performing. Following that would be speeches by the AAS President, Ronald Stride, Admiral Tyson and Chargé d'Affaires, Mr. Daniel Shields.

  
5) Fireworks - 8.15pm  
 
 

 

6) Barry Michael- 8.30 pm -began his career at the tender age of four singing along side his father during his Saturday morning radio show in Atlanta, GA. Stockbridge Records will be releasing Barry’s debut album titled “Ripped Blue Jeans & ATV’s”.  With a high energy sound, inspirational lyrics, and an “easy on the eyes” approach, Barry hopes to entertain fans nationwide.

Cost: Entrance is free-of-charge.  Food, beverage & other goodies available for purchase.


How do I get there?: 
 
Shuttle - A shuttle service will be provided from the Sembawang MRT station to the Terror Club every 15 minutes between 3.30 pm and 10.30 pm. 
Taxi - There will be taxis available along Wellington Road after 8.30 pm. 
 
What to bring:
- Passport or Photo ID
- 1 purse or tote per person
- Cash (SGD) - Credit cards not accepted

What NOT to bring:
- Vehicle - NO parking available 
- NO Backpacks, large bags, or coolers
- NO food or alcoholic beverages - Only food for small children or medical purposes allowed
- NO fireworks or flammable items (i.e. sparklers, noise fire-crackers, etc.)
- NO pets - Seeing guidance dogs accepted
- NO items violating Singapore law
*Note: If you choose to bring items listed above, you may run the risk of losing them.
