Reporting to the General Manager, the Sponsorship Manager is responsible for acquiring, managing and developing annual sponsorship partners for events and publications for the American Association of Singapore (AAS).


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and cultivate corporate sponsors by developing sponsorship strategies to penetrate new sponsors and inkind donors by creating and delivering presentation of value proposition
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions in accordance with AAS’s revenue goals and ensure fulfillment of contract terms. Implement strategies to meet revenue targets and ensure P&L and financial goals for sponsorship are met
  • Attend event committee meetings as the sponsorship representative
  • Manage relationships with existing AAS sponsorship partners by meeting quarterly to monitor contract terms and follow up on invoicing and collection of payments
  • Monitor sponsorship partners’ graphic standards for logo usage, promotions and advertisement in AAS publications, promotional materials
  • Provide sponsors a measurement of their return on investment
  • Ensure ASP and event-level advertising materials and content are submitted to Advertising Manager and Communications Manager on-time
  • Provide two ASP related special offers by the first of each month to the Communications Manager
  • Maintain in-kind tracker spreadsheet on a quarterly basis and submit to accountant in a timely fashion
  • Greet and cultivate sponsors at events and sponsor appreciation events

    Job Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in sales, marketing, fund raising or related job responsibilities
  • 5 years of experience writing sponsorship and/or marketing proposals
  • Proven track record of meeting sales and/or revenue targets
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously with calm demeanor
  • Proven ability to manage and nurture business partner relationships
  • Effective organizational and planning skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adapt to work with diverse groups
  • Strong computer skills including use of MS Office, Word and Excel
  • Some nights and the occasional Saturdays are required
  • Bachelor's degree required
