Fourth of July
Happy Birthday USA!
American Association of Singapore and Singapore American School are thrilled to celebrate Fourth of July with you! Because of renovations at Singapore American School's campus, we are holding this event at Marina Barrage this year which is such an iconic and super cool venue!
We promise you'll have a ton of fun basking in the wide open green space while you enjoy live Dixieland music, a roving magician, and lots of contests such as watermelon eating and a pie bakeoff plus law games like tug-of-war and sack races for the kids. Eat yummy food, play old-fashioned lawn games galore and try your hand at some crafts.
This event is sponsored by Singapore American School.
Here's what we have in store for you:
We are delighted to have New Stream Brass Band roaming the event, performing traditional Dixieland jazz for us live!
Look out for our roving magician, Ming Da, who will enthral you with his magic tricks and illusions!
Show off your red, white and blue and your American spirit by dressing your whole family up in your favorite 4th of July garb. Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed!!
Calling all bakers! If you think you have a winning pie recipe, please bring along your baked treat for a chance to win some great prizes! Stay tuned for info about the judges.
Love watermelon? Join a speed-eating contest for both kids and adults!
Free flow popcorn, candy floss and snow cones for all!
Gourmet beef hot dogs will be available for purchase from The American Club
Hoe Brothers will serve up gyros
Smokey's BBQ will provide some BBQ faves
Please note that no alcohol will be sold at the event.
Come play some old-fashioned lawn games such as limbo, cornhole toss, hopscotch, ring toss and more!! Enter into the competitions such as the sack race, egg & spoon race, three-legged race and tug-of-war.
PHOTO BOOTH sponsored by Expat Dental
Be sure to pop by the photo booth full of all sorts of cute props. Show those pearly whites and take a patriotic photo.
Registration ends on July 1, but be sure to sign up now as the first 150 orders will receive a special PICNIC MAT, so don't delay. Space is limited which means you need to sign up early to grab a spot. There is absolutely no registration allowed at the event per the Singapore government restrictions this year.
We need an army of volunteers to help with this event. Volunteers get free entry and a swank shirt. New this year: Scouts can earn a community service patch for helping out.
No refunds will be offered after June 18. This is a rain or shine event. In the event of severe weather, the event will be cancelled and no refunds given.
