About the Event
It's the situation none of us want to think about: what happens if your spouse dies while you're living in Singapore? There's so much to consider! What are the legal implications? If the spouse has the EP, how long can you and your family stay in Singapore? How do you manage your grief and that of your family? The questions are limitless.
This is one of those talks that you don't want to go to but that you really need to attend. Think of it like insurance. It's information you need and hope you never have to use.
Hosted in conjunction with our sister organization, AWA, the two expert speakers will cover the five stages of grief and how to manage death of a loved one here and overseas.
We'll also answer the below questions and many more:
- What do I need to do if my spouse dies in Singapore?
- How do I repatriate my spouse's remains?
- If I’m a Dependant Pass holder, will I have to leave immediately?
- What happens to our bank accounts & investments (both joint accounts or in my spouses’ name only)?
- How do we handle our rented home?
- Will children have to leave school mid-year?
- Can we break our contracts with the phone company, internet provider, utilities etc?
- What happens to our car loans or rentals?
- Will our overseas will be honored? Do we need one here?
- How do I claim life insurance?
- How does the Singapore government handle taxes in these situations?
- What happens to my children if both of us die in Singapore?
