Bring the whole family and join AAS and UFIT for an afternoon of family fun and socializing. Anybody over the age of 9 is welcome to play. Wee ones will be entertained, too. And we’ll have a bit of socializing after. What a great Sunday family afternoon!

Don’t know how to play? No problem! The game is easy to pick up. Don’t have equipment? We’ve got you covered. Paddles and balls will be provided – water, too! All you have to do is show up. Don’t have a partner? No worries. Sign up as individuals. Easy peasey.

This event is all about introducing folks to the sport. Everybody will get to play for the full 2.5 hours with 10 minutes matches on the court, 10 minutes off the court then back for another 10-minute match and so forth. It’ll be such fun!

THE SPORT

So what is Pickleball anyway? It’s a rapidly growing paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. It's played on a smaller court with solid paddles and a perforated plastic ball, making it accessible to people of all ages and skill levels. You don’t have to be super fit to play either. It’s all about fun! What makes pickleball special is its simplicity and inclusivity. Beginners can quickly grasp the basics, while advanced players get into the strategy.

Our hope is that people love this event and we can start our own AAS Pickleball League! So come give it a try!

Adults: 15 years old and above

USAGSO Senior Girl Scout Troop 82 will keep your kiddos entertained! For a $20 donation per child to the troop, the girls will keep yur kids busy for the entire event. The troop is raising funds to go to Laos in February. The donation will be paid diretly to the troop on the day of the event.

3:50-4:00 Drop young children at children’s area

4:00-4:10 Pickleball details including rally scoring briefing

4:10-6:40 Matches begin

6:40-7:00 Mixer with awards, announcements & light refreshments

THE FORMAT

Doubles random rotations

- Partners are rotating all the time (levels out the playing field)

- Players play for 10-minute rounds

- Points are accumulated throughout the day

- Using the rally scoring format which means anybody could win!

- Practice courts available while waiting to play
