Home Hospitality

Serving Our Military Service Men and Women

The American Association of Singapore, supported by the rest of the American community organizations, is proud to present Home Hospitality in support of our military service men and women.

Home Hospitality has been in place for many years with great success. The program is simple: families of Americans, Singaporeans and other nationalities host visiting American service personnel while their ships dock in Singapore, often en route to dangerous assignments.

There are many different types of hospitality from a home cooked meal, hosting a dinner at a restaurant, treating them to a hawker meal, arranging a poolside party, arranging a golf game or tour of Singapore. Some guests subsequently correspond with their hosts throughout their deployment and create a morale boost in exchange for reports "from the front." Please note that Home Hospitality is day and evening only. Overnight accommodations are not needed as the personnel must report back to the ship.

If you would like to participate in this worthwhile, patriotic and very much appreciated effort, please contact the American Association office at 6738-0371 or homehospitality@aasingapore.com.

Home Hospitality is coordinated by Steve Kreutter who moved to Asia in 1988 with his wife Holly. Their three children were born and raised in Singapore, Korea and Japan. Steve volunteered with SACAC for many years when his kids were growing up and he enjoyed coaching and organizing sports and events. With two nephews in the Navy, he become interested in Home Hospitality and wants to pay a tribute to their service by helping give sailors a taste of home in Singapore.
