About the Event
Raising children in a culture different from your own is an incredible opportunity—but it also comes with unique challenges. Join AAS and International Community School for an insightful and supportive conversation about Third Culture Kids (TCKs)—children who grow up in a country (or countries) different from their parents’ passport culture.
This event will explores what it means to raise a TCK and how families can help their children develop a strong sense of identity and belonging despite constant change. Whether you're a parent, educator, or caregiver, you'll walk away with practical strategies, fresh perspectives, and a deeper understanding of how to guide TCKs through transitions, cultural complexities, and emotional growth.
Topics include:
What is a Third Culture Kid?
Navigating cultural identity and rootlessness
