90 Acts of Charity
AAS is launching a special initiative: 90 Acts of Charity. This year-long effort reflects the heart of AAS—community service. From supporting families in need to uplifting local projects and small acts of kindness that brighten lives, these 90 Acts honor both the 90th George Washington Ball and Singapore’s 60th anniversary.
Together with our members, partners, and friends, AAS is committed to carrying this legacy of service and generosity well into the future.
Why so many charitable acts?
AAS feels that rather than writing one big check after our George Washington Ball and helping only one group of individuals, we’d like to do more across Singapore this year. We want to roll up our sleeves and truly give back in meaningful ways to multiple organizations.
Some Acts will be big like renovating HDBs through Habitat for Humanity’s Project Homeworks as well as special projects at ACRES and Dover Park Hospice. But not every Act has to be big and splashy. Acts of Charity come in all sizes and shapes and little ones are just as important as big ones. No Act of Charity is too small.
Giving back is part of the American ethos and we want to embrace that this year. Teach your children that doing good for others is a cornerstone of being American.
AAS will be organizing lots of projects this year. We will need your help! We also invite you to organize your own projects and share them with us. Or reach out if you need assistance. Let’s do this together and make a difference in the country we choose to call home!
Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities
As we've just launched this initiative, we are just starting to get events on the calendar. But we do hope to have opportunities coming up with Habitat for Humanity's Project Homeworks, ACRES and Dover Park Hospice.
We will be adding opportunities where you can volunteer as we lock them in so watch this space and please join our activities. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, too! And you don't have to be a member of AAS to pitch in!

Go ahead! Brag a little!
We want to encourage our members and friends of the American Association to tell us about their own Acts of Charity. What are you and your family or friends doing in the community! Has your office done something cool? Your Scout group? Please tell us about it! We'll add your Act to our website (see below) and also include you in our magazine and social media.
Or do you have a project and need volunteers or financial aide? Great! Email 90Acts@aasingapore.com and we’ll see what we can do to help
