My act of charity, called Helping Hooks, involved creating sports bag hooks for family and friends. I made more than 25 hooks to raise money for the YMCA’s special needs youth sports programs. I love sports and want everyone to have the opportunity to play and enjoy them.

Scouts from Troop 10 & 1010 spent the morning cleaning up Sembawang Beach, collecting an 24 bags of trash weighing 150kg from the waterway area! Despite the challenging work under the hot sun, the Scouts made a meaningful difference and showed great commitment to protecting our environment.

I joined a wonderful group of Housekeeping Heroes with Lions Befrienders to help declutter a senior’s apartment and create a safer, more comfortable living environment. It was heartwarming to see university students, NS personnel, and working professionals come together, giving their time and energy to support our seniors!

This Wednesday as usual, I headed down to St Hilda's Services for a short while in the afternoon for some fun activities with elderly folks residing in the neighborhood. This week, we painted the scenery of a seaview and made bracelets. Overall it was a great bonding session!

Over the past few weeks, I have been dropping by at St Hilda's on Wednesday and Friday afternoons for a short interactive session with elderly residents of the HDB estate and surrounding areas. Some of the activities include Bingo and mini umbrella painting.

My act of charity, "Sensory Playground at Rainbow Centre," was an Eagle Scout Project I organized in order to help the children at this school have a better and more comfortable play experience, since they have different sensory needs. We built two sensory boards and two box forts, allowing them to have more fun and feel more comfortable during play

At HWA's 'Garden of Hope', the bench was often too hot to use due to the Singapore weather. I built a shade over it, creating a perfect sheltered spot to enjoy the garden view!

With volunteers from BSA Troop 7, I designed and created two sensory boards for the HEI school, an inclusive preschool in Bishan. This was for my Eagle Project. The boards were designed for their outdoor playspace and contained sensory, auditory, and visual elements for their students. A

Thank you, AAS, for your generous contribution of 129 packets of puzzles, 410 packets of floats, and 200 packets of pencil boxes. The donation was received by Pastor Lloyd Longos of International Baptist Church and will be forwarded to our partners in the Philippines for distribution amongst the needy children and their families.

This event was organized by students to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer. The theme is "This Is Our Shared Journey" to reflect that no child faces cancer alone. For the third year ollowing Closing Ceremonies, girls from levels Daisies to Cadettes worked with Project Awareness to bring joy to those living in HDBs. The girls delivered more than 50 bags filled with healthy snacks, each made with love. The girls really enjoyed interacting with residents in the Woodlands.

The Hiemstra family moved to a new apartment, which gave them a great opportunity to clean out closets. They donated more than 25 boxes of items to various charities across Singapore, from pillows to It's Raining Raincoats to books to Share at Your Door to shoes for Soles for Souls. They also gave items directly to those in need.

I joined a friend for the AAS tree planting near Serangoon North Avenue HDBs, teaming up with a few other crews for the NParks OneMillionTrees Movement. After a quick planting crash course and supplies provided by NParks, we got our hands dirty—digging, planting, and helping add to the beauty of the Garden City.

On May 21, 2026, Greg, Solee, Tara, and I went to an apartment to support a vulnerable family through a meaningful decluttering initiative. Our team worked tirelessly side by side, making significant progress and helping to create a safer and more comfortable living space for the family.

These amazing ladies love their monthly Bunco nights and giving back! In April, they mixed things up by hosting a board game drive. Players brought a variety of games, which were donated to Willing Hearts. These contributions help support children in the Philippines and Indonesia. https://willinghearts.org.sg/

A group of friends got together for a clothes swap and brought makeup, tools and jewelry to donate while they were at it! The donations will go to support Image Mission, helping those in need gain confidence, secure employment and build a better future for themselves and their families.

USA Girl Scouts Overseas held their annual Leader Daughter Day, an appreciation event for those volunteers and their daughters who give their time to Girl Scouts. As part of the event, girls brought donations for SPCA to support animals in need.

AAS members and staff spent a meaningful morning at Dover Park Hospice, helping to bring joy to those in their final months of life. Volunteers set up a mini shopping experience for 40 patients, along with a delicious lunch in honor of Hari Raya. Patients used tote bags decorated by children to “shop” for items such as wipes, oral care products, and snacks. Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to socialize during lunch—especially patients who are not often able to go out.

The Rotary Club of Marina City donated 100 meals to migrant workers at the ECC CTQ Dormitory in Singapore to support them during breaking of fast. Soma, Mary, and I had the opportunity to visit the dormitory and personally help distribute the dinners. We were also delighted to learn that another generous couple contributed ad additional 200 meals.

Avrio Wealth purchased cookies from MINDS Bakers for everybody who attended the George Washington Ball. MINDS Bakers is a social enterprise that supports bakers with special needs.

Girl Scouts USA Troop 99 curated a care package for seniors at the Lion Befriender Center in celebration of Chinese New Year.

To commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) Day, nearly 100 AmChamSG staff and members came together to visit over 400 senior households in Sembawang to distribute oranges in celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year. MLK Day serves as a National Day of Service, encouraging Americans to strengthen their communities through volunteerism.

As part of MLK National Day of Service, lots of little kids turned out to paint tote bags for the upcoming Hari Raya event at Dover Park Hospice. We were super impressed that each child wanted to give back to help others. Big thanks to The American Club for supporting the AAS event. Photos here.

Twenty cheerful Girl Scouts, ages 5 to 15, from several troops, brought lots of Christmas joy to several nursing homes across Singapore, continuing a tradition that began at a local women’s nursing home at St. Andrew’s Mission Hospital. The girls sang carols, played instruments, and delivered hand-crafted cards.

It was my first time donating blood and it won't be my last! Donating blood is an act of kindness and can save up to 3 lives.

Girls from USA Girl Scouts Overseas (Singapore) collected 19 boxes and bags of gifts for workers from It’s Raining Raincoats. Then the girls wrapped every single gift so that it’d be even more special for the men who receive them!

I was a mentor for the CV & Interview Skills workshop at Victoria Junior College on 29 November. 

Once a week, I assist the trainers at during outings and enrichment programs for the adult learners at the Down Syndrome Association.

I have been Aidha volunteer mentor for the past 3 years now. I've had the honour of seeing some of my students visibly grow in confidence & taking tangible steps towards to their financial goals over the years.

AAS is proud to sponsor a tree in the Trees of the World exhibit at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. We had fun decorating our tree and spreading cheer!

AAS was proud to once again spearhead the national Toys for Tots drive which pulls together organizations from across the nation to help gather toys for children at KK Hospital who will be spending the holidays in the hospital. Thanks to our generous donors, we filled 16 large moving boxes full of new toys.

Guests at AAS’ annual Thanksgiving feast showed up with lots of donations for Food Bank Singapore. We collected bags and bags of food from our generous guests! Thank you!

AAS, AmCham, and USA Girl Scouts Overseas hosted a screening of a documentary about Frances Hesselbein, the first CEO of Girl Scouts and recipient of the Medal of Freedom. Attendees were asked to bring new stationery supplies for Good Shepherd Convent to go to children in need. The collection box was so full it was hard to close!

AAS and International Community School spent a Saturday morning packing 100 shoeboxes for American sailors on US Navy vessels. The boxes were filled with items generously donated by AAS members, ICS families, and AAS partners.

The American Association of Singapore staff had a pawsome morning at OSCAS, spending the day walking and caring for shelter dogs that needed love and attention.

Some of the members of AAS' Executive Committee spent their Sunday morning working at Willing Hearts. They cut up lots and lots of meat and folded bags galore! Willing Hearts provides daily meals and other support services to the underprivileged, the needy, and other marginalized persons in Singapore

The George Washington Ball Committee did a little good while attending the food tasting for the Ball (and spoiler: the food at the GWB will be delicious!) Each committee member brought clothes to donate that recipients can wear for job interviews. What a great way to give back while planning a fabulous event for AAS members and friends!

The AWA walkers participated in the Pink Ribbon Walk ‘25 this Saturday for a show of solidarity, strength and support in the fight against breast cancer. Bravo to all who walked who walked in honor of someone, in celebration of survivorship, or simply to raise awareness.

At the AAS Entrepreneur Freelancers SME Group's monthly meeting, members brought clothes to be donated to Share at Door Step (SADS). This organization picks up your items, then finds the appropriate charity in need. It's a great way to declutter your wardrobe and help others at the same time!

My 15-year-old son Hudson was stopped by a blind woman on ths street. She asked him if he could help her find the entrance to the MRT. He offered his arm and guided her several blocks. Not only did he take her to the station entrance, but he also took her down the escalator and set her in the right direction for her train.

For the last couple of years, I’ve been going over to Lombok, Indonesia, to assist with TNRs (trap, neuter, return) for LUNI Lombok and Vets Beyond Borders. We’ve helped control the cat population alongside regular medical check-ups, necessary surgeries, deworming, and vaccinations for the cats on the Gili Islands. I’ve also participated in three Singapore Spay Days. This is a publicly funded program that provides low-income families with free spaying and neutering services for their cats. I also volunteer twice a week at a vet here in SG to help with veterinary nursing.

USA Girl Scouts Overseas Singapore made the world a better place by weeding invasive species and picking up litter on the East and West coasts of Pulau Ubin. A total of 39 girls participated, ranging in age from the youngest Daisies to the older Cadettes. They were joined by 20 parents as well.

AAS was proud to donate a portion of ticket sales from Fall Fest 2025 to support BTSC Cares, the charity and community arm of Bukit Timah Saddle Club. BTSC Cares offers equine-related activities and programs, filling intersectional gaps across different organizations, beneficiaries, and people.

A group of friends got together for a clothes swap and decided to do a bra donation drive while they were at it. They collected lots of bras to be donated Perk by Kate Bra Donation.

As soon as we moved to Singapore this year, I looked for volunteer opportunities and found a home at the Red Cross Shop on Penang Lane. It benefits a worthy cause and the community, which warms my heart.
