Volunteerism
A Culture of Giving
The American Association has a strong heritage of giving back in Singapore.
For many years, proceeds from our George Washington Ball have gone to support a variety of initiatives across the country. One of major events every year is Toys for Tots, an event that enables us to donate hundreds of toys to needy children in Singapore. We also have a special program for visiting US Military Service Men and Women called Home Hospitality. These are ongoing programs which are part of our very fabric.

We also add additional volunteer opportunities wherever possible. Currently, we work monthly with ACRES on projects supporting wildlife rescue here. We are planning some more volunteer events for our upcoming calendar.
To celebrate our centennial year, we launched 100 Acts of Charity, spearheading the completion of 100 acts of charity by American volunteers in one year. It was an amazing effort by not only the American Association, but our sister American organization.

We welcome members' ideas and initiatives to give back whenever possible.
