About the Event

Whether you have been living here for two years or 12, moving back to your home country can be challenging. We all understand culture shock, but you may not realize that when moving home, most people experience reverse culture shock. There is a disconnection between family and friends and it takes time to get your footing with new routines and environments. You've changed. Family and friends have changed, too. So you're going home, but home isn't the same. How will you fit in now? How will your kids adjust?
Join AAS, Kelly Cheong, Regional Sales Team Lead from our annual parter Allied and Dr. Suzanne Anderson of Restorative Community Counselling for an informative talk aimed at helping you understand the various impacts of moving back.
Many AAS members have moved back over the years and told us about the challenges they faced. So we started running this talk to help support the community. We have brought in the best to take you through the emotional ups and downs as you plan for the physical move.
Suzanne will take us through the emotional side of moving home and provide tips on helping the family with the transition. You might think you're ready for the big move home, but it is much harder than you think!
Kelly will take us through the logistics of moving along with new procedures and processes that are in place after Covid. She'll cover things like how long will it take to get your stuff home, what kind of costs can you expect, supply changes challenges and more.
Trust us: if you're repatriating, this is one event you don't want to miss whether home is the US, Europe, Australia or somewhere else.
