Come Get Your Gobble On: Thanksgiving Feast & Fun 2023

Ready to get your gobble on and stuff yourself silly? Americans, non-Americans, family, friends, children, and people you meet on the street are all welcome to share in our special family celebration!

Thanksgiving is one of the most iconic American holidays so we are celebrating right with an all-American event. The day will be co-hosted by American Association of Singapore (AAS) and American Women's Association (AWA) held at the beautiful campus of XCL American Academy (XAA), the event's sponsor. USAGSO Girl Scouts are helping out, too!  We're doing it right, folks!

THE FOOD

We're serving up all your faves, done just the way you like them. Yum!

• Roast Turkey
• Homemade Bread Stuffing (G, D)
• Traditional Hoe’s Gravy (G, D)
• Cranberry Sauce
• Real Mashed Potatoes (D)
• Mac and cheese
• Roast Herb Vegetables with Olive Oil 
• Meshed peas
• Homemade Dinner Roll and Butter (G, D, E)
• Chocolate brownies
• Pumpkin squares
• Whipped Cream (D)

DRINKS

Please bring your own water bottle (there are plenty of refill stations available on campus). You are also welcome to bring your own wine to share. Juice boxes will be provided for kiddos. Woodford Reserve will also be on hand with special cocktails for the adults! It's "Old-Fashioned Month" in the cocktail world so we'll be serving Old Fashioneds to celebrate as well as Porch Swings.

THE CRAFTS

We'll have crafts galore for kids of all ages to keep them busy and aimed to reinforce the message of giving thanks and the Girl Scouts will be on hand to help out! And these aren't those crafts you get in plastic bags either. Nope! These are the real deal, folks: special crafts the way you made them when you were a kid back in the States.

THE GAMES

We'll be running some games for the families – guaranteed fun!

TRANSPORTATION

We will be providing free busses to the event from The American Club to XCL American Academy's campus. Please indicate when you buy your tickets if you want seats on the bus. There will be no return bus so please plan accordingly.

FOOD DRIVE

We are collecting food items to donate to Food from the Heart. If you wish to contribute, here is the wish list for food items with at least 3 months shelf life:

• Rice in smaller packs (1 kg or 2.5 kg)
• Vermicelli / Bee Hoon
• Milo / Ovaltine / Horlicks (less sugar)
• Canned Vegetables / Mock Meat
• Coffee / Tea (less sugar)
• Canned Fish / Chicken
• Biscuits
• Canned Soup
• Evaporated Milk
• Cooking Oil (500 ml or 1 L)
• Bread Spread
