The news flew like wildfire from WhatsApp group to WhatsApp group: Singapore is reducing social groups from eight people to five people to try to stem the spread of COVID-19. The recent cluster from Tan Tock Seng Hospital has sent Singapore scurrying to do what it does best: keep everybody safe.
Of course, the timing couldn't be worse, disrupting everybody's plans, especially at this tender time of year when dear friends repatriate and want to say their final farewells. There are also lots of end of year events planned before kids leave school. The little girl in me wants to stomp my feet and say, "It's just not fair!" But we need to stay healthy, so we'll all just have to get a bit more creative again.
